  • God’s Purpose for His Church

    The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the world. From the beginning it has been God’s plan that through His church shall be reflected to the world His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to “the principalities and powers in heavenly places,” the final and full display of the love of God. Ephesians 3:10. {AA 9.1}
  • A Broad Foundation

    The highest of all sciences is the science of soul saving. The greatest work to which human beings can aspire is the work of winning men from sin to holiness.... True education includes the whole being. It teaches the right use of one's self. It enables us to make the best use of brain, bone, and muscle, of body, mind, and heart. The faculties of the mind, as the higher powers, are to rule the kingdom of the body. The natural appetites and passions are to be brought under the control of the conscience and the spiritual affections. Christ stands at the head of humanity, and it is His purpose to lead us, in His service, into high and holy paths of purity. By the wondrous working of His grace, we are to be made complete in Him. {MH 398.4}
  • A True Knowledge of God

    Like our Saviour, we are in this world to do service for God. We are here to become like God in character, and by a life of service to reveal Him to the world. In order to be co-workers with God, in order to become like Him and to reveal His character, we must know Him aright. We must know Him as He reveals Himself. A knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation. It is this alone that can make us like God in character. {MH 409.2}
  • Danger in Speculative Knowledge

    One of the greatest evils that attends the quest for knowledge, the investigations of science, is the disposition to exalt human reasoning above its true value and its proper sphere. {MH 427.1}

    “The Son of man will come in the clouds of heaven in his own glory and the glory of His Father, and of all the holy angels. There will be no lack of honor and glory. In that day the law of God is to be revealed in its majesty, and man, who has broken that law and stood in defiant rebellion against its holy precepts, will understand that that law which he has despised, discarded and trampled underfoot is God's standard of character…. The trump of God will be heard resounding through earth's remotest bounds, and the voice of Jesus will call forth the dead from their graves to immortal life… The just . . . shall come forth from all parts of the earth, from rocky caverns, from dungeons, from caves of the earth, from the waters of the deep--not one is overlooked.”
  • The Spirituality of the Law

    The Spirituality of the Law
  • The Lord came from Sinai,
    And rose from Seir unto them;
    He shined forth from Mount Paran,
    And He came from the ten thousands of holy ones:
    At His right hand was a fiery law unto them.
    Yea, He loveth the tribes;
    All their holy ones are in Thy hand:
    And they sat down at Thy feet;
    Everyone received of Thy words."
    Deuteronomy 33:2, 3, R.V., margin

    It was Christ who, amid thunder and flame, had proclaimed the law upon Mount Sinai. The glory of God, like devouring fire, rested upon its summit, and the mountain quaked at the presence of the Lord. The hosts of Israel, lying prostrate upon the earth, had listened in awe to the sacred precepts of the law. What a contrast to the scene upon the mount of the Beatitudes! Under the summer sky, with no sound to break the stillness but the song of birds, Jesus unfolded the principles of His kingdom. Yet He who spoke to the people that day in accents of love, was opening to them the principles of the law proclaimed upon Sinai. {MB 45.1}

Consider Jesus: Humanity’s Ideal

jesus-handsIn the teacher sent from God, heaven gave to men its best and greatest. He who had stood in the councils of the most high, who had dwelt in the innermost sanctuary of the eternal, was the one chosen to reveal in person to humanity the knowledge of God…Through Christ had been committed every ray of divine light that had ever reached our fallen world. It was he who had spoken through everyone that throughout the ages that declared God’s word to man…To reveal this ideal as the only true standard for attainment;…for this, Christ came to this world.” Education Pg.73

The physical creation of genesis is reflective of the systematic theology.

Systematic Theology_bannerSystematic theology briefly explained is the organizing of the teachings ( doctrines ) of all the books of the bible into categorical systems. For example no one book of the bible gives all the information about God, but the many books of the bible reveals and support the doctrine of God, and so also with all other doctrines. There are literally seven pillars ( points ) in the systematic theology as there are seven literal days of creation recorded in the book of Genesis. But what is more Continue reading

As clearly taught in the bible faith is not only found in the New Testament but it is clearly seen in the Old Testament as recorded particularly in the book of Hebrews chapter eleven. This chapter not only gives a definition of what faith is, but it also shows that faith is what the patriarchs of old used as  the reason for their beliefs and actions. Please note that the book of Hebrews is found in the New Testament.

While faith came by Jesus Christ, since Christ alone can give faith, it is the faith of Jesus Christ. Therefore this faith which is revealed in the Old Testament first, confirms that Christ existed in the Old Testament  times, and that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Wherever faith is revealed it teaches or gives a knowledge of Christ. This is the faith that Abraham had, and this is the same faith that we must have  Gal. 3 : 7—9.

Many persons today reject the standard of pure morality set forth in the Bible as the standard that man must abide in when converted. Not only do men fight against the idea of sinless perfection but they point out the sins of the men of the Bible as evidence that men cannot live sinless in this life.

For example King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, and not only that, but he orchestrated Uriah’s death that he may have Bathsheba to be his wife, recorded in the book of 2 Samuel 11: 1–17.
Then we read of Solomon” the wise” who had not only one wife, but seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. (1 Kings 11:1–3 ) How could these men of resound holiness live such adulterous lives and today we say the bible calls for sinless perfection ?
While these examples are true, as the Bible do not hide the faults of men, for there is no respect of persons with God ( Acts 10 : 34 ), but rather all men are called to repent and be saved.2 Peter 3 : 9. For indeed the wages of sin is death Romans 6 : 23. However God is gracious and full of mercy to all who repent and seek to do His will. Both David and Solomon did repent of their sins and followed in the councils of God. 2 Samuel 12 : 1 — 14 & Ecc. 8 : 11, 12. Continue reading

Faith and Works…

Faith and Works : Page 85  “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour” (Ephesians 5:2). In all the fullness of His divinity, in all the glory of His spotless humanity, Christ gave Himself for us as a full and free sacrifice, and each one who comes to Him should accept Him as if he were the only one for whom the price had been paid. As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive; for the obedient will be raised to immortality, and the transgressor will rise from the dead to suffer death, the penalty of the law which he has broken.

For centuries upon centuries men and woman alike have given their views as to who Jesus Christ is. At times he is viewed as god; a god; a godly man; at times as a mere man ; a prophet ; a deceiver ; a savior and the list goes on and on. Many love him and many hate him , but just who is this Jesus ?
The bible gives the answer to this question, though this same bible is used by men to their fancy for their own personal and religious beliefs, as to who Jesus is. Thus creating confusion and causing doubt in the minds of the people on this subject, as among many others. Continue reading

It can be said dogmatically that God is creator and we owe him worship alone, since he gave us salvation in Jesus.  But what do we make of all the wonderful scientific achievements like aeroplanes, computers, motor cars etc. How can we not praise man who seemingly without God, sought out many inventions apart from faith.  It could be argued that if the scientist did not seek out these things, maybe we would still be riding horse and buggy fulltime.
