  • God’s Purpose for His Church

    The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the world. From the beginning it has been God’s plan that through His church shall be reflected to the world His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to “the principalities and powers in heavenly places,” the final and full display of the love of God. Ephesians 3:10. {AA 9.1}
  • A Broad Foundation

    The highest of all sciences is the science of soul saving. The greatest work to which human beings can aspire is the work of winning men from sin to holiness.... True education includes the whole being. It teaches the right use of one's self. It enables us to make the best use of brain, bone, and muscle, of body, mind, and heart. The faculties of the mind, as the higher powers, are to rule the kingdom of the body. The natural appetites and passions are to be brought under the control of the conscience and the spiritual affections. Christ stands at the head of humanity, and it is His purpose to lead us, in His service, into high and holy paths of purity. By the wondrous working of His grace, we are to be made complete in Him. {MH 398.4}
  • A True Knowledge of God

    Like our Saviour, we are in this world to do service for God. We are here to become like God in character, and by a life of service to reveal Him to the world. In order to be co-workers with God, in order to become like Him and to reveal His character, we must know Him aright. We must know Him as He reveals Himself. A knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation. It is this alone that can make us like God in character. {MH 409.2}
  • Danger in Speculative Knowledge

    One of the greatest evils that attends the quest for knowledge, the investigations of science, is the disposition to exalt human reasoning above its true value and its proper sphere. {MH 427.1}

    “The Son of man will come in the clouds of heaven in his own glory and the glory of His Father, and of all the holy angels. There will be no lack of honor and glory. In that day the law of God is to be revealed in its majesty, and man, who has broken that law and stood in defiant rebellion against its holy precepts, will understand that that law which he has despised, discarded and trampled underfoot is God's standard of character…. The trump of God will be heard resounding through earth's remotest bounds, and the voice of Jesus will call forth the dead from their graves to immortal life… The just . . . shall come forth from all parts of the earth, from rocky caverns, from dungeons, from caves of the earth, from the waters of the deep--not one is overlooked.”
  • The Spirituality of the Law

    The Spirituality of the Law
  • The Lord came from Sinai,
    And rose from Seir unto them;
    He shined forth from Mount Paran,
    And He came from the ten thousands of holy ones:
    At His right hand was a fiery law unto them.
    Yea, He loveth the tribes;
    All their holy ones are in Thy hand:
    And they sat down at Thy feet;
    Everyone received of Thy words."
    Deuteronomy 33:2, 3, R.V., margin

    It was Christ who, amid thunder and flame, had proclaimed the law upon Mount Sinai. The glory of God, like devouring fire, rested upon its summit, and the mountain quaked at the presence of the Lord. The hosts of Israel, lying prostrate upon the earth, had listened in awe to the sacred precepts of the law. What a contrast to the scene upon the mount of the Beatitudes! Under the summer sky, with no sound to break the stillness but the song of birds, Jesus unfolded the principles of His kingdom. Yet He who spoke to the people that day in accents of love, was opening to them the principles of the law proclaimed upon Sinai. {MB 45.1}

Hell Fires Are Not Forever !

Today we live in a world where almost all of humanity are engrossed in the pursuit  of gaining the comforts of this life.This challenges the economy of our time as we work, study, play, sleep, being caught up in the activities of each day. We become then, so  dependent on those who are ” qualified in various fields ” , we see the Mechanic when our vehicle is not performing properly , the Doctor when we are not feeling well, and so on. Even the religious aspects of our lives we leave up to our ministers who are supposed to be qualified in the way of the truth, and we take their every word as if it were the very word of God. However, we are warned that many false prophets shall arise and deceive many, therefore we are admonished to study for our selves as we are saved only with truth and as individuals . Matt. 24 : 4 & 5, 2Tim. 2 : 15, 2Cor. 5 : 10.

The scriptures informs us as to these times as we read in the book 1Tim. 4 : 1 Now the Spirit speakest expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. Yes my friends this time is fully upon us and the truths of the scriptures are being perverted to cause many to distrust and have a false knowledge of the mercy and love of God, and eventually be lost . The subject “of hell” is one of these doctrines that has been perverted to bring fear and even hate to God. In this study we are going to review the teachings of the Bible on this doctrine and show from scripture that hell fires are not forever !!!
Many scriptures are misinterpreted to give false ideas, but none need be misled as God’s word is it’s own dictionary and thus it explains itself. By carefully studying each scripture that deals with each topic we may have a clear understanding of the truth. In dealing with the topic of Hell fires many quote certain scriptures that seem to teach that Hell fires are forever and that the wicked burn forever and ever and ever through all of eternity; this is really a doctrine of devils.  According to this theory God’s wrath against sin is not satisfied with removing life from rebellious mankind, but instead he  roast them alive for billions upon billions of eons, a torture from which there is no reprieve or possible escape. A careful study of the scripture shows differently , in one of the most known passage, John 3 :16, it states For God so loved the world that He gived His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him SHOULD NOT PERISH but have everlasting life. Simply, everlasting life is given only to those who believe, and those who reject shall perish, not suffer everlasting life in Hell’s torment. When something perishes it stops being, there is no everlasting life for those who rejects Christ.
Psalms 37 : 20 states; The wicked shall PERISH, and the enemies of the Lord, like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall VANISH AWAY.
Psalms 145 : 20 The Lord preserves all who love Him. But the wicked He will DESTROY.
These scriptures are very clear on this topic and shows that God will in fact destroy the wicked. To destroy does not in any sense means to keep alive. To try and interpret destroy, perish and vanish away in any other way is to add what is not there. We are warned in the book of Proverbs 30 : 6, Add thou not unto His words, least He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. That is correct, we are not to try and alter God’s word to fit our own concepts , God will reprove us.
Here now are some scriptures that are often misquoted to give the idea that hell fires are forever. Matt. 25 :46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Note eternal life is given only to the righteous, not the wicked. The wicked do not have eternal life, the compariso n is between life or punishment. Again we find the term everlasting punishment in 2 Thess. 1 : 8 & 9. Here again it states that the wicked … shall be punished with everlasting destruction.. It simply means that the wicked will be eternally gone , completely destroyed, never to exist again!
The fact is that eternal fire does not mean a fire that will never go out. The same expression is used in Jude : 7 concerning the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha.
Even Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as example, suffering the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE.
It is quite obvious that Sodom is not still burning today. The Dead Sea rolls over the place where these ancient cites once stood. Yet they burned with ETERNAL FIRE, and we are told that it was for an example of something. What is it an example of ? The answer is found in 2 Pet. 2 : 6. And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha INTO ASHES condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly. There it is! The eternal fire that which brought Sodom to ashes is an example of what will finally happen to the wicked.
The same kind of fire that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha will also burn  the wicked together with Satan and all his evil angels  to ashes. Could this be true? The Bible says yes! Mal. 4 : 1 & 3 For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall BURN THEM UP, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch… And ye shall thread down the wicked; FOR THEY SHALL BE ASHES under the soul of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
No words of any language could make it more forceful or clear. Even Satan the root, is finally consumed. How consistent the whole picture appears as we let the Bible explain itself. What devious manipulation of words would be required to evade the obvious meaning of these words. Yet those who have been prejudiced by a life time of tradition can read those words burn them up.. they shall be ashes and still insist that the wicked are alive and suffering. Admittedly, there are some ambiguous verses on this subject, but we are finding that they all harmonize when the context  is considered, and the Bible is allowed to be it’s own explanation.
The Bible states that The wages of sin is death. Rom. 6 : 23.
Someday soon God will have a clean universe. All the e ffects of sin will be banished forever. There will be no more sin, no sinners and no devil to tempt. It will be exactly like God planned it from the beginning.
We read Rev. 21 : 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
Can you find any room in the precious quotation for any suffering on the part of anybody in the whole recreated universe? God said crying and pain would be no more. Do you believe God’s word or do you choose to believe man’s surmising? Just four verses before writing this promise, John described how the wicked would be cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20 : 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev.21 : 1. and I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and first earth was passed away.
The lake of fire at this time is located right here on planet earth according to Rev. 20 : 9. But please notice that this place where the wicked is burn will pass away, and God will re-create a new earth in it’s stead. The new Jerusalem descends before  that fire devours the wicked, and afterwards, according to verse 4, there will be no more sorrow, pain crying, or death. In order for this to exist, there can be no eternal Hell existing either. The two things are mutually exclusive of each other. We should thank God every day that His plan will finally bring an end to suffering. Satan will not be here to cause pain, and God promises that His new kingdom will not contain any shadow of pain.
Sin must be eradicated. Sinners who cling to their sins rather than seek forgiveness and cleansing will be destroyed. But this is a strange work for God, not one He delights in. It is a one time act, as we read Isa.28 : 21. For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim,.. that He may do His work, His strange work; and bring to pass His act, His strange act.
Again Eze. 33 : 11. Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his ways and live: turn ye turn from your evil ways; for way will ye die,
Finally, we should rejoice that Hell was never intended for you and me. Jesus said it was Prepared for the devil and his angels. Matt. 25 : 41. If we stumble into that hell fire, it will be the most colossal blunder we could ever make. You would have to go  over the broken body of Jesus Christ and in spite of the Father’s love of the Holy Spirit pleadings, and the heavenly influence of millions of angels. The only reason anyone will be lost is because he refuses to turn away from his sins into the arms of a loving Savior who stands ready to  cleanse and pardon from all unrighteous. For God so loved the world that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life .Jh. 3 : 16.

May God bless you and comfort your heart with His words of truth that you may experience life eternal.
Yours in Christ

  1. Thank you so much for this.. During a discussion with a person who believes in this ‘eternal hellfire’, ambiguous texts were definitely brought up. Wasn’t 100% sure how to explain the ‘eternal’ in these verses, till I read this article. Hopefully my response will strike a chord, so that they might not be misled.

    • Thanks be tho God for the blessings of his word it is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. I was so pleased to know that you were able to defend one of the foundational pillars of the christian faith that the devil has caused many to falter on. The lie of the devil is alive today as it were when spoken to Eve in the Garden, but God has his witnesses, the Remnant Church in every age that have been defenders of the Faith; keep fighting the good fight of Faith and may the Grace of Christ purge us from all iniquity and present us blameless in the day of judgement. If it be well with you, you can call us for literature or simply to have dialogue in the Word for the edifying of the body, which is the Church. Hope to hear from you soon, God Bless.
