  • God’s Purpose for His Church

    The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the world. From the beginning it has been God’s plan that through His church shall be reflected to the world His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to “the principalities and powers in heavenly places,” the final and full display of the love of God. Ephesians 3:10. {AA 9.1}
  • A Broad Foundation

    The highest of all sciences is the science of soul saving. The greatest work to which human beings can aspire is the work of winning men from sin to holiness.... True education includes the whole being. It teaches the right use of one's self. It enables us to make the best use of brain, bone, and muscle, of body, mind, and heart. The faculties of the mind, as the higher powers, are to rule the kingdom of the body. The natural appetites and passions are to be brought under the control of the conscience and the spiritual affections. Christ stands at the head of humanity, and it is His purpose to lead us, in His service, into high and holy paths of purity. By the wondrous working of His grace, we are to be made complete in Him. {MH 398.4}
  • A True Knowledge of God

    Like our Saviour, we are in this world to do service for God. We are here to become like God in character, and by a life of service to reveal Him to the world. In order to be co-workers with God, in order to become like Him and to reveal His character, we must know Him aright. We must know Him as He reveals Himself. A knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation. It is this alone that can make us like God in character. {MH 409.2}
  • Danger in Speculative Knowledge

    One of the greatest evils that attends the quest for knowledge, the investigations of science, is the disposition to exalt human reasoning above its true value and its proper sphere. {MH 427.1}

    “The Son of man will come in the clouds of heaven in his own glory and the glory of His Father, and of all the holy angels. There will be no lack of honor and glory. In that day the law of God is to be revealed in its majesty, and man, who has broken that law and stood in defiant rebellion against its holy precepts, will understand that that law which he has despised, discarded and trampled underfoot is God's standard of character…. The trump of God will be heard resounding through earth's remotest bounds, and the voice of Jesus will call forth the dead from their graves to immortal life… The just . . . shall come forth from all parts of the earth, from rocky caverns, from dungeons, from caves of the earth, from the waters of the deep--not one is overlooked.”
  • The Spirituality of the Law

    The Spirituality of the Law
  • The Lord came from Sinai,
    And rose from Seir unto them;
    He shined forth from Mount Paran,
    And He came from the ten thousands of holy ones:
    At His right hand was a fiery law unto them.
    Yea, He loveth the tribes;
    All their holy ones are in Thy hand:
    And they sat down at Thy feet;
    Everyone received of Thy words."
    Deuteronomy 33:2, 3, R.V., margin

    It was Christ who, amid thunder and flame, had proclaimed the law upon Mount Sinai. The glory of God, like devouring fire, rested upon its summit, and the mountain quaked at the presence of the Lord. The hosts of Israel, lying prostrate upon the earth, had listened in awe to the sacred precepts of the law. What a contrast to the scene upon the mount of the Beatitudes! Under the summer sky, with no sound to break the stillness but the song of birds, Jesus unfolded the principles of His kingdom. Yet He who spoke to the people that day in accents of love, was opening to them the principles of the law proclaimed upon Sinai. {MB 45.1}

Many  Bible believing persons are even to this day confused and in doubt to the state of the dead and the doctrine of a resurrection. Thus Satan is able to get persons to hold on to error believing that they have the truth. That is why the Bible admonishes us all to study to know the truth for ourselves 2Timoty 2 :15. As the Bible is  our guide we must use it to prove in all clarity the doctrines that are so essential for life eternal.

Many persons believe that when an individual dies they go straight to either Heaven or Hell, depending on the type of life they lived. Many others are disturbed by the  efforts to reconcile the immediate reward or punishment of the dead with the unquestionable  fact of a future resurrection and judgment. If at death the soul entered upon eternal happiness or misery, where is the need of a resurrection of the poor moldering body? But the Bible do teach of a resurrection and not only one but two !
Now let us look at the doctrine of resurrection as taught in the Bible. In the book of Matthew we read of a group called the Sadducees who claimed that there is no resurrection  and even challenged Christ on this doctrine Matt. 22 : 23. This is how Christ responded to them in Matt. 22 : 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, YE DO ERR, NOT  K NOWING THE SUTURES  , NOR THE POWER OF GOD, and in verse 30 He continues  For in the Resurrection……… and verse 31   Jesus continues But as touching the RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD……...
Clearly Jesus Himself teaches of a resurrection of the dead and to go against this doctrine is to “ERR ” .
Even the apostles contended with these Sadducees in the book of Acts 4 : 1 , 2 , we read ……….and the Sadducees came upon them, being grieved that they(the disciples) taught the people, and preached through Jesus the RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD. ( See also Acts 17 : 18, 32 ; 24 : 15, 21 )
In 1Cor. 15 : 12, 13 we read Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen. Exactly !, the Bible teaches that Christ died and He did raise again Acts 4 :33
The resurrection shows the power of God Matt. 22 : 29 and since Christ says that He is the resurrection and the life, He is saying that truly He is God ! Jh. 11 : 25
The question remains are these resurrections past ? are they happening now? or they set for some future time? What does the Bible teach?
In the time of Christ’s earthly mission Martha accepted that the resurrection will take place at the end of civilization as we know it Jh. 11 : 24.  If Martha was in error Christ would have corrected her at once, but He made no attempt to do such. Thus signifying the truth she held.
The apostle Paul writing in the book of 2 Timothy 2 : 18 states Who concerning the TRUTH HAVE ERRED, SAYING THAT THE RESURRECTION IS PAST ALREADY; AND OVERTHROW THE FAITH OF SOME !!!!  Paul was saying that the resurrection was still future and to teach differently was to make shipwreck of ones faith .
Christ Himself teaches the resurrection to be future Jh. 5 : 28, 29 . He says  Marvel not at this : for the hour is coming, ( notice IS COMING still future ) in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the RESURRECTION OF LIFE; and they that have evil, unto the RESURRECTION OF DAMNATION.” Christ teaches that all that die are in the graves, both the good and the evil. No one goes to Heaven nor to Hell, but all are waiting to be resurrected. These are the two resurrections, one is for the just, and the other is for the unjust, the good and the evil.
These resurrections take place at different times  , they do not occur together.
We are further guided in the book  of 1 Cor. 15 : 21 – 23 .…. For since by man( the man Adam )came death, by man( the man Christ Jesus )came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive . But every man in his own order: ……… . Very important to notice ” EVERY MAN IN HIS OWN ORDER “. Not all are resurrected at the same time , but all has their order.
Just what is this “order” ? Again the Bible guides us, in 1Thess. 4 : 14 – 16 it states that when Christ comes again ( notice way down to the time of Christ’s second coming ) that the dead in Christ shall rise out of their graves ( Only the power of Christ can give life ) This is the FIRST RESURRECTION and only the dead in Christ has part in this resurrection. In this resurrection the dead are raised to incorruption never to experience death again!!! 1 Cor. 15 : 42 – 50. Rev 20 : 6
Again, this resurrection takes place at the second coming of Christ when all the living wicked will be slain at the brightness of His coming, and the living righteous shall be translated never experiencing death 1 Thess. 1 – 3, Matt. 24 : 36 – 39, 1 Cor. 15 : 51 – 53
At Christ’s second coming civilization as we know it will be destroyed. There will be no living animals or birds, or fishes neither any human being living upon planet earth as the conditions to sustain life will be destroyed. 2 Pet. 3 : 10 + 11, Jer. 4 : 23 – 28, Isa. 24 : 17 – 22.
The dead in Christ have part in the first resurrection and are taken to heaven along with the living righteous who have been translated to be with Christ in heaven for one thousand years ( the Millennium ). Only after the thousand years are the wicked dead resurrected, this is the second resurrection Rev. 20 : 4, 5
The wicked dead are resurrected to receive the penalty for their sins in rejecting Christ and for preaching false doctrines Rev. 20 : 9, 10 , 14, 15. Ps. 37 : 10, 20.
My dear brethren, let us  hold fast to the word of God and be not deceived by the devises of men, that should we live or die we may have part in the first resurrection when our Lord shall come again unto which the second death has no power. Amen and grace and peace to us all.
